According to the Quarantine and
Prevention of Disease Ordinance it is a legal requirement for every Medical
Officer to notify notifiable diseases given
in column I to the proper authority.
These diseases should be notified on the
basis of a provisional diagnosis (on a clinical diagnosis without waiting
for laboratory confirmation).
Any person who contravenes this regulation can be prosecuted in the magistrates
court.
Notification should be made according to instruction given in column III
(telephone/fax/notification card Form Health 544/for T.B. Form Health
816).
